Spring Cleaning Marketing Tasks During the Slow Season

Spring Cleaning Marketing Tasks Blog Graphic

The holidays are over, we've all gotten used to writing "2026," and Q1's big pushes are finally in the rearview mirror. If you work in marketing, especially in transportation and logistics, you know the pace rarely actually slows down, but this stretch of the year offers something valuable: a natural pause between the sprint of Q1 launches and the momentum of the months ahead. Think of it as prime time for a little spring cleaning. Now is a great opportunity to go beyond your daily marketing tasks and tackle those checklist items that keep getting pushed. Use these tips to improve SEO, strengthen security, and boost customer satisfaction before the rest of 2026 gets away from you.

1. CRM Cleanup

CRMs have great data to work with, but they're not always organized uniformly. Whether there are discrepancies between users or leadership preferences, the imported data could hold mistakes that wouldn't otherwise be caught by typical reporting. So, the task at hand is to comb through the data, eliminating duplicates, add missing data, and update information.

2. Listing Sites/Directory Refresh

Oftentimes platforms, or a previous employee, will create a listing or profile for your business on popular sites like Google, Glassdoor, or Facebook. If your audience frequents these sites, they may just try to find all of their information there instead of your website. Make sure all of the profiles are claimed and the information is accurate.

3. SEO/AEO

The rules of SEO and AEO are not fixed and can sometimes be complicated. However, there are always simple actions that can be taken to to improve your SEO. For example, make sure your web pages have headings that make sense, review the metadata for your main pages, and compress files that are taking too much space. Proceed with caution as this may turn into a bigger project. As you make changes to your website, make sure it still functions properly so you can interject if there are issues. Browse HubSpot's Resource Library to get more information on SEO/AEO.

4. Password Hygiene

Every once in a while, it's a good idea to go through your passwords to make some security checks. For instance, reusing the same password across different sites, or passwords that are easy to guess (like "Password1"). Moreover, it might be time to consider implementing additional security measures like password managers, or Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) if you haven't already done so. This will ensure easy access while reducing the risk of hacking.

5. Revisit Automated or Approved Responses

As your organization grows and develops, make sure any chatbots on your website or automated social media responses are updated. If you don't utilize these tools, the same could be said for your FAQ page or response templates. Even if the information is still accurate, it could be useful to refresh some of the language for a better flow, or simply to add variety.

Takeaways

While these tasks may be time consuming, they can save more time in the long run. As Benjamin Franklin famously said, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." From keeping your data safe to answering questions at any time of day, a little intervention can keep your organization running smoothly and with precision, even during the busy times.
